Hampden-Sydney men’s hoops has 2-0 week

Hampden-Sydney College’s men’s basketball team went 2-0 last week, including orchestrating a 63-56 home win over rival Randolph-Macon College on Feb. 1. It was the Yellow Jackets’ first Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) loss of the season after accumulating 10 ODAC wins.
Tigers senior guard JaVonte Reddick led all scorers with 19 points, junior center/forward Guilherme Guimaraes had 11 points and four rebounds and senior guard/forward Jake Duncan recorded nine points and four boards.
On Saturday, Hampden-Sydney used a 45-point first half to fuel a 71-57 victory over visiting Bridgewater College.
Duncan and sophomore point guard Logan Samuels each had a game-high 16 points.
Reddick added 13 points and two blocks, and freshman guard/forward Kevin Quinn contributed 12 points and seven rebounds.
The Tigers (9-12, 5-7 ODAC) host Virginia Wesleyan College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
