Fuqua students participate in honors band

In mid-January, six Fuqua School students participated in the 26th Annual Longwood Honors Band.
Hannah Cook, Emily Erickson, Candace Pembelton, Ireland Seagle and Ellie Vick performed in the Longwood Honors Concert Band. Eli Hall performed in the Longwood Honors Jazz Band.
The event was hosted by Longwood University and conducted by Longwood professors Dr. Gordon Ring and Dr. Charlie Kinzer.
This year marked the largest participation with 14 high schools and 146 students taking part. To be selected for the event, students were nominated by their directors then selected by the conductors of the event.
