Bernice V. Laveri

Bernice V. Laveri, 85, of Louisa, departed to be with Christ on January 16, 2017. She was born in Richmond to George and Marguerite Voltaire.
She attended Manchester High School where she graduated Valedictorian and later worked for C&P Telephone Company. Bernice was a woman of strong Christian faith, a life-long learner, avid reader, writer and nature-enthusiast. She devoted her life to the care and nurturing of her family; and many others she “adopted” as a loving surrogate mother and grandmother.
Bernice is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Edward; daughters, Kathleen Cunningham, Mimi (Mary E.) Laveri and Leigh Colbert and husband, Lee; grandchildren, Sarah Blakley and husband, Jeff, Lauren Cunningham and husband, Patrick Headley, Adam Colbert and Sean Cunningham; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Charles and Julia Headley; and sisters, Nell Davidson and Dorothy Long.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 28 at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Mineral.
