When voting in the special election Jan. 10, remember that Virginia law requires all voters to provide an acceptable form of photo identification when voting in person at their polling place. There are many different types of photo identification that voters can use when they vote. All of the acceptable forms of photo ID can be used up to a year after identification has expired. Some acceptable forms of photo identification cards are a valid Virginia Driver’s License or Identification Card; a valid Virginia DMV issued Veteran’s identification card; or a valid United States Passport, etc.
For a complete list of acceptable identification, or for more information visit www.elections.virginia.gov. If you do not have any of the acceptable forms of photo identification, you can simply go to your nearest Voter Registration Office and apply for a free Virginia Voter Photo Identification card.
For more information, you can call the Buckingham Voter Registration office at (434) 969-4304 or call (800) 552-9745.
Correction: In last Friday’s edition of The Buckingham Bulletin, the date of the special election for the State Senate race was incorrect. The election is Jan. 10.
