Marjorie Williams Black Maxey

Marjorie Williams Black Maxey went to be with the Lord Monday, November 28, 2016.  She resided in Buckingham County.  Marge was born in Fluvanna County on January 4, 1929, and was the only child of James Edloe and Alice Seay Williams.  She was the widow of Howard G. Black Jr. and Robert Self Maxey Sr.

She is survived by the Maxey children, Rob Maxey (Debbie), Chet Maxey (Lynette), Don Maxey (Renee), Rhonda Maxey Bowman (Jim), and Kimberly Maxey Rumsey (Chris); goddaughter Marjorie Snead Pugh (Preston); 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews from both the Black and Maxey families.

Marge was employed for 22 years as an Executive Secretary with the Life Insurance Company of Virginia.  She was a former member of Derbyshire Baptist Church in Richmond and attended Sharon Baptist Church in Buckingham County.

A special thanks to her loving caretakers, Kay Tyree, Faye and Wanda Bryant, and to the caring staff at The Woodlands.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 4 at 2 p.m. at Sharon Baptist Church, Scottsville.  A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Sharon Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Fund.
