Exterminator preserving buildings

Eli and Candice Watson, owners of Central Virginia Exterminating (CVE), of Dillwyn, are donating their time and effort to help preserve all the buildings in The Historic Village at Lee Wayside. As with any wooden buildings of this age — most more than 100 years old — there have been termites seen as well as powder post beetles. With the donation of chemicals from CVE distributors, BASF (Termidor HE) and Nisus Corp. (Bora Care), CVE will treat and get rid of these little enemies of preservation. “I know I speak for all the members of Historic Buckingham Inc. (HBI) who are grateful to CVE and their distributors,” Spencer Adams, head of building and grounds for HBI, said. HBI President Martha Louis added, “It is such a gesture of goodwill to have CVE along with Lynn Williams of Nisus Corp. and Scott Etheridge of BASF to help preserve these wonderful old buildings for the community to enjoy for a long time.” Pictured are, from left, Eli Watson, Lynn Williams and Spencer Adams working to preserve these historical buildings.
