Our sympathy is extended to the Connatser family, of Dillwyn. Ruby Mae Shaver “Meme” Connatser, age 90, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 12. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 11 a.m. at Jones Chapel Baptist Church of Cumberland with interment in the church cemetery. She will be greatly missed by all.

Thanksgiving Day was Thursday. From our house to your house, have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving. Let us remember to give thanks in everything. For we know that all things that are good and wonderful come from the Lord.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who are sick and shut in Dillwyn and surrounding counties.

Do’s and don’ts of human food for dogs: Corn is OK to give your dog, but do not give them the cob, it can cause intestinal blockage. Yogurt is also good for dogs. Use plain, no sugar added or artificial sweeteners.
