The United Way of Prince Edward County has already raised 33 percent of its goal    — more than $16,700 — and celebrated the accomplishment by putting the first star on its board in front of Citizen’s Bank & Trust Co. on South Main Street in Farmville. The United Way’s goal is to raise $50,000 to distribute to its partner organizations that provide a variety of services in the community.
