Charles William “Charlie” Taylor, 83, of Dillwyn, went home to be with the Lord on October 26, 2016, surrounded by family members at home.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Mae, his father, Robert “Shorty” Taylor, four brothers, Robert, Alfred, Andrew and John Taylor, sister, Louise Godsey and stepson, Ronnie D. Shumaker.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carrie S. Taylor of Dillwyn; three sisters, Dorothy Adcock of Goochland, Frances Barlow of Crewe and Tiny Hudson and her special friend, Marshall Crowder of Dinwiddie; sister-in-law, Wanda Taylor of Dillwyn; special nephew, Andrew Taylor of Dillwyn; along with many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Funeral services were held October 30 at the Dunkum Funeral Home with interment in the Buckingham Community Cemetery.
