Edward Alfred Trunko

Edward Alfred Trunko, 88 of Meherrin, passed away on October 23, 2016. He was born on May 31, 1928 to the late John M. and Mary Papp Trunko.

He served his country during the Korean War in the US Army. He was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Farmville and Sacred Heart Church in Meherrin, and was a member of the Farmville VFW, a past member of the American Legion in Richmond, and 3rd Knight of the Knights of Columbus, St. Edwards, Richmond. He was employed by Raritan Copper Works in Perth Amboy, NJ and retired from Willow Oakes, Cartersville.

He was married to Genevieve A. Jaworowski until her death in 2014.

He is survived by his children, Debi Scott of Monroe Twp, NJ, Joseph Trunko of  Riverside, CA, Edward Trunko of Meherrin, Pamela Trunko of Charlotte NC, and John Trunko of Riverside, CA; grandchildren, Brittani Miller-Chen of Monroe Twp, NJ, Elizabeth Trunko of Riverside, CA, Michael Trunko of Riverside, CA, Evonne Scott of Monroe Twp, NJ and Isabella Trunko of Riverside, CA; and “Annie Elizabeth” of Charlotte, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters, Elizabeth Hogan, Mary Means and a brother, John Trunko.

A mass will be held on Saturday, October 29 at 9 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy, NJ with interment in The Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Fords, NJ.

Family will receive friends on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 2 p.m.–4 p.m. and 7 p.m.–9 p.m. at Gustuv J. Novak Funeral Home, Perth Amboy, NJ.
