Public unfair to Trump

Let it be clear: Donald Trump’s words about women 11 years ago are more than terrible! But is the public fair in saying it makes him unfit to serve as president?

John Kennedy’s time in the White House was considered glorious, referred to as Camelot. Yet, there was adultery with Marilyn Monroe. Reportedly, when Jackie came in the front door, other women left through the back. I do not remember anyone saying he was unfit to serve.

There was Bill Clinton and his sexual escapades. Of his perverted acts in the Oval Office, Maxine Waters said on the news that what he did was his own private business. He is still a treasured voice for the Democratic Party of whom I have never heard it said he was unfit to serve.

Franklin Roosevelt, the icon of the war years, also had his flings but is revered for his leadership.

I have always heard actions speak louder than words, so I don’t think what Trump said registers anywhere near what others actually accomplished. Am I justifying or making light of what he said? Not at all; he was terribly wrong.

However, this is not a contest about who has spoken the worst words in the last decade. It is about whose policies are best to divert this country’s present path to certain ruin. Neither candidate has a character I would praise, but Trump’s policies will get this country back to work, our military back on track and our flag back to regaining the respect it once knew.
