Police have taken a male suspect into custody without incident after he barricaded himself in a home on Milnwood Road on Monday night, resulting in the road’s closure.
Farmville Police Chief A.Q. “Andy” Ellington said the man was taken into custody shortly before 10 p.m., and that Milnwood Road would soon reopen.
According to Ellington, Farmville police, Virginia State Police’s TAC Team and negotiators were on the scene.
No one was injured during the incident, Ellington said.
Ellington said police had been going back and forth to the house seeking the man since this afternoon, and were at the home for more than 45 minutes.
He said the incident was not connected to a shooting incident which took place on South Main Street on Sunday afternoon.
