The Pamplin Area Legacy Supporters (PALS) recently honored former Pamplin Mayor Robert Mitchell for his “unsurpassed efforts” on behalf of the renewal of Pamplin City. PALS said Mitchell was instrumental in the renovation of the Pamplin Depot, now used as a community building, as well as housing the town offices. The group presented Mitchell with a framed print of Pamplin Main Street, painted by local artist Gloria Richardson and used in a brochure describing the historic buildings on Pamplin’s main street. Pictured are, from left, Edwina Covington, Diane Hindenlang, Carolyn Jolly, Barbara Pickett, Mitchell, Betsy Lookofsky, Minerva Venable, Mary Hinds, Connie Seburn, Al Lookofsky and Regina Schwabe.
