Rock the Block a community success

Last Friday, Longwood University held its annual Rock the Block event. During the event, numerous businesses and organizations in the area came out to greet students and the community, give away free goodies and help everyone learn more about what they do.
All around, the event was a success, packed with people with smiles plastered across their faces as they spent time with their family and friends, viewing booths, eating and listening to a live band.
We want to commend all those involved in the planning and execution of Rock the Block, as well as all the local businesses and organizations that came out and set up booths. You made the event the success that it was by using your community-minded passion to inform those in the area of what Farmville and Prince Edward County has to offer.
Thank you for showing the community and students an exciting event to be a part of, and thank you for always representing our town in a positive light.
Without community leaders like yourselves, our town would not be the fun-filled cozy place it is, home to giving people like yourselves. We all should strive to serve our community like you have shown us by your example.
