Earlier this summer, the Dillwyn Town Council honored the late Shirley Seay, a Buckingham County native who, along with her family, owned various properties and was supportive of the community. Council members passed a resolution noting Seay, her husband, J. Abner Seay, and his brother, Paul D. “Buddy” Seay, and his wife, Dorothy, owned Seay Milling & Machinery Co. and Seay & Haver Oil Co. It also noted her “very active and supportive (role) in/of various organizations” and that she “always provided the flag at the cemetery.” Pictured receiving copies of the resolution from Dillwyn Mayor Linda Paige, second from right, are, from left, Seay Milling Office Manager Debbie Bersch; Seay’s sister-in-law, Natalie Ripley; grandniece Libbie Morris; brother, Gordon Ripley; niece, Roma Morris; and Morris’ husband, Larry. We join the town of Dillwyn in saluting Seay’s life. (Send “Way to Go” photos with names and a description to waytogo@farmvilleherald.com.)
