Phyllis Wilkerson Hamlett Burns

Phyllis Wilkerson Hamlett Burns went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 9, 2016.  She was born in Farmville on August 16, 1930.  She was predeceased by her parents, William and Rebecca Wilkerson, her first husband, Emerson C. Hamlett, and her second husband, Andy Burns.

She is survived by her sister, Ivie Lee Wilkerson Johnson; a niece, Debbie Danford (Doug); nephew, Todd Johnson (Angela); great-nephew, Spencer Johnson, all of Williamsburg; and two stepsons, Carl Burns and Gary Burns of Fort Mitchell.

Phyllis graduated from Farmville High School, worked for Virginia Telephone & Telegraph for 30 years and was a member of Hampden-Sydney College Presbyterian Church.

A memorial service will be held at Hampden-Sydney College Church on Saturday, September 17, at noon. Please donate to the Prince Edward Volunteer Rescue Squad.
