Robert Douglas “Doug” Wright

Robert Douglas “Doug” Wright, 59, of Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016. He was born in Farmville on December 12, 1956, to Robert V. and Ruth Asal Wright.

He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting and being outside. His hobbies included arrowheads hunting and collecting old bottles and jugs and raising roses.

He was a kind and gentle man who loved his family.

Mr. Wright is survived by his parents, Ruth and Robert Wright; grandmother, Ruth Asal Southall; sister, Donna W. Barger (Larry) Buckingham; nieces, Stephanie Wright (Rodney) of Cumberland, Jennifer Cooley of Lynchburg, and Jessica Baldwin (Scotty Sloan) of Cumberland; nine great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great-nephew.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Puckett Funeral Home. Family will receive friends two hours prior to service starting at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
