The August Ice Cream Sundays lecture series at Sailor’s Creek Battlefield Historical State Park continues at 2 p.m. Saturday with “Shape Notes Singing,” a presentation by Education Specialist Zachary Pittard. Shape Notes singing groups from Richmond and Charlottesville will perform popular songs from the era. The lecture and performance will be held in the Battlefield Visitor Center. Admission is free. However, for a $2 donation to the Friends of Sailor’s Creek Battlefield, there will be all-you-can-eat ice cream sundaes.
