Robert Terry Jenkins, 61, of Rice, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016, at his home. He was the son of the late Calvin and Nellie C. Jenkins. He was the husband of 40 years to Diane Mottley Jenkins.

Mr. Jenkins is survived by two sons, Thomas Andrew Jenkins and wife, Christine, and Michael Stephen Jenkins and wife, Mandelyn; eight grandchildren, Thomas “Scooter” Jenkins Jr., Kaitlyn Jenkins, Madison, Alexis, Angelina, Scarlett, Gavin and Colton; two nephews, Randall and General Dakota Jenkins; and a brother, Victor Jenkins. He was predeceased by a brother, Calvin Jenkins, Jr.

His greatest joy was his grandchildren and being a papa to all children who met him. He was a member of the Masons, an original member of Rice Fire Department and the co-owner of Blue and Grey Convenience Store in Rice until 1996. Mr. Jenkins cared about his community and friends and was an avid hunter and fisherman until the decline of his health.

A funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 24 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Puckett Funeral Home with interment in Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Rice.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
