Summer is a time for fun and relaxation for many youth. Buckingham County 4-H members recently enjoyed a week of 4-H Summer Sensation Day Camp. They went on a field trip to the Frontier Culture Museum and Holliday Lake State Park, went berry picking, cooked homemade blackberry cobbler and blackberry jam and made various crafts. One of the craft projects was making a keepsake teddy bear from an old shirt. Activities for the summer have concluded in Buckingham, but 4-H club meetings and after-school programs will resume in September. 4-H Summer Day Camp participants pictured are, from left, Alex Boyles, Noah Tubbs, Sam Trimble, Curtis Milliner, Joey Boyles, Clayton Lightfoot, Madison Jones, Minnie Wallace, Hannah Johnston, Erin Webber, Olivia Trimble, Jordon Johnston (squatting), Rachel Bardon and Meredith Delong-Maxey. 4-H programs are available for youth ages 5-19.
