The Friends of Buckingham will provide a van visit the Governor’s Mansion on Saturday to encourage the governor to be more supportive of efforts to prevent environmental pollution. Issues to be discussed include dumping contaminated water from coal ash into rivers, the four pipelines slated for the state, fracking and uranium mining. The van will leave from Union Hill Baptist Church, Union Hill Road, just of Route 56. The van will leave at 9:30 a.m. and return by 5 p.m. To make reservations, call Chad Oba at (434) 969-3229.
