After Longwood University’s women’s golf team finished among the top 10 in seven of nine events played this past season, third-year Lancers Head Golf Coach Shannon Briggs announced the squad’s fall slate of four tournaments to begin the 2016-17 schedule.
The Lancers make their 2016-17 debut Sept. 12-13 at the CSU Wendy’s Invitational in Charleston, S.C. They will face a short turnaround, heading to the Towson Tignanelli Invitational for a 36-hole tournament at Eagles Nest Country Club in Phoenix, Md. on Sept. 18-19.
Longwood’s final pair of tournaments throughout the fall will be new additions to the schedule under Briggs’ guidance. The Lancers travel to the Sunshine State Oct. 3-4 to play the Jacksonville University Classic held at Marsh Landing Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. They complete their fall slate by playing in the Bill Berg Invitational, a three-day, 54-hole event hosted by Western Carolina University to be held Oct. 16-18 at The Ridges Golf Club in Hayesville, N.C.
