Funeral Service Held July 3 For Robert Williams, Sr.

JULY 6 – Robert O. Williams Sr., whom we all knew as “Mutt Sims”, was born September 22, 1934 to Joe Williams and Alice Sims. He entered into eternal rest Saturday, June 26, 2010.

He joined Forest Baptist Church at an early age and attended Prince Edward County School. He married Lorraine Hurt on April 6, 1957 and from this union eight children were born.

He retired from Barnes Manufacturing Corp. of Kenbridge after 20 years of service.

Mr. Williams leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Lorraine of 53 years; three brothers, Ernest Williams, Horace and Joseph Stokes all of Meherrin; two sisters-in-law, Deacon Pauline Stokes and Lizzy Williams of Meherrin; five sisters, Dorothy Hurt of Keysville, Alice Stokes of Victoria, Annie May Stokes and Joanne Streat both of Meherrin, and Margarite Hill of Petersburg; two brothers-in-law, Douglas Streat of Meherrin and William Hurt (Mary) of Baltimore, MD; four sons, Robert O. Williams Jr. (Linda Gilmore) of Meherrin, Joe Williams (Latesha) of Cumber-land, Sterling Williams (Sheila) of Green Bay, and Tyrone Williams (Jamie Fowler) of Meherrin; four daughters, Linda Watson (John Sr.) of Keysville, Joyce Watson, preceded in death (Dean Sr.), Mary Estes (Darin) of Meherrin, and Teresa Parker of Greensboro, NC; foster child, Albert Ford of Meherrin; one other son, Wesley Payne, preceded in death; 34 grand-children; 31 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service was held Saturday, July 3, at Forest Baptist Church, Meherrin, with the Rev. Dennis Blanding, Pastor, officiating.

Wilson Funeral Home, Keysville, served the family.
