SCOTTSVILLE — The National Rifle Association (NRA) has endorsed state Sen. Tom Garrett, R-Buckingham, in his bid for Congress.
“Given his stellar record in the Virginia Senate on the Second Amendment, this endorsement from the NRA-PVF comes as no surprise,” a campaign press release stated.
Garrett is seeking the Republican nomination to fill the congressional seat being vacated by U.S. Rep. Robert Hurt, a Republican.
“I am proud to have earned the NRA’s endorsement,” Garrett said in the release. “I have voted for and carried challenging pro-gun legislation. Not only have I voted correctly on every gun bill over my five years in the senate, I have stood without fear and carried pro-gun legislation when others have refused.”
