FARMVILLE — The Farmville Jaycees have announced the 2016 lineup for the First Friday Series, the organization’s signature event held at Riverside Park in downtown Farmville.

The series will kickoff on Friday, May 6, with Moosetrap. On June 3, the Brian Graham Band will perform live, and Bobby “Black Hat” Walters will perform on July 8.

On Aug. 5, Improbable Cause will perform, and on Sept. 9 Rissi Palmer will take the stage.

The events begin at 5:30 p.m.

“This family-friendly event will feature music from both local and nationally known music artists, activities for children, food from various local vendors and a variety of craft beverages,” a Jaycees release stated. The May 6 event serves as a kickoff to the Heart of Virginia weekend.

“We are extremely grateful to the local community for their continued support of this event,” said Jaycees President Jeffrey Gore. “The overwhelming support allows the Farmville Jaycees the ability to support local non-profit organizations that are making an impact within the Farmville community.”
