On Feb. 27, the Central Piedmont Chapter of Virginia Master Naturalists conducted a bluebird house workshop at Bear Creek Hall in Bear Creek Lake State Park. With provided materials, participants built bluebird houses and received information on attracting bluebirds with the appropriate. Seventeen families, including 35 individuals who constructed 29 houses, are now inviting bluebirds to properties across the region. Precut wooden pieces for the houses were a project of students enrolled in building trades classes at the Buckingham Career and Technical Center. The Cartersville Garden Club provided refreshments. This is the sixth consecutive year Central Piedmont VMN has sponsored the bluebird house workshop; plans are already in the works for next year.
