Lancer women’s golf place eighth at Kingsmill

Junior Courtney Tolton matched her season-low with a two-over par 74 to finish inside the top-10, as the Longwood women’s golf team finished eighth in a strong field Tuesday at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate played at the famed River Course at Kingsmill Resort.
Tolton’s final round 74 helped her surge up the leaderboard 16 spots to finish the tournament t-7 for her second top-10 performance of the season.
The final round 74 matches her low round of the season and is tied for the fourth lowest round on the team in 2015-16. Longwood finished eighth with a 54-hole team score of 310-312-321—943 (+79). Toledo captured the team title with a three-day total 304-296-308—908 (+44), while Pennsylvania finished runner-up with a 916 (+52) total.
Longwood returns to the links at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate hosted by Appalachian State on April Sunday and Monday.
