The Friends of High Bridge Trail State Park, which will meet March 17 and again on April 21, provide a variety of recreational and educational opportunities to assist the park staff in promoting environmental stewardship along one of Virginia’s linear state parks. They support the park through fundraising and with refreshments and volunteer personnel at events. The group has planted and maintained flowerbeds at the River Road trail intersection. Recently the Friends purchased and delivered a defibrillator to the park staff.  Mile markers are currently being installed every one half mile to help locate those in need of assistance.
