Annie Gay Reid, 68, of Buckingham – It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that our family announces the sudden passing of our beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville.  She was born on October 8, 1947 in Buckingham to the late Frank and Gabriella Dolan Stanley.

Annie Gay was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Wesley “Bill” Reid Sr.; her brothers, Thomas Stanley, George Stanley and James Stanley; and her sisters, Frances Stanley, Louise Miles and Hallie Wooten.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Clarence) Logan of Arvonia; her stepdaughter Cynthia (Brady) Jones of Buckingham; her stepson, Floyd (Lisa) Reid of Dillwyn; sisters, Peggy (Robert) Ragland of Buckingham and Sarah (Freddie) Sprouse of Dillwyn; her special nieces, Ann Whorley of Staunton, Kathy Williams of Buckingham and Teresa Davis of Dillwyn; her nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren and other relatives.

A funeral service was held at Antioch Baptist Church on Sunday, February 14 with burial in the church cemetery.

We are extremely grateful for the love and support of our family, friends and community during this time difficult time.

Memorial contributions may be made in Annie Gay’s memory to the Buckingham County Rescue Squad.
