PRINCE EDWARD — The Prince Edward Courthouse is set to get a new roof.
County supervisors recently agreed to award a contract bid to TeamCraft Roofing for $205,500.
“This includes a metal roof over the existing shingle roof with a 30-year warranty and a silicone coating over the flat roofs with a 20-year warranty,” a county document stated.
Supervisors allocated money from the county budget’s general fund balance to pay for the project.
In September, the county agreed to hire Metal Roof and Building Consultants to serve as the consultant for the project and to serve as the job inspector.
TeamCraft is set to begin work within the next 60 days, according to County Administrator Wade Bartlett.
“We’ve had leaks and we’ve had issues with the shingles on the roof. There were some defective shingles that were purchased,” he said.
