Buckingham Baptist Church, 24234 N. James Madison Hwy., New Canton, will hold a Valentine’s Day dinner and movie (“War Room”) on Sunday Feb. 14, at 5 p.m.

The menu includes homemade spaghetti, salad, bread, beverage and dessert for a suggested donation of $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. Proceeds will benefit the Youth Department.

Sympathy is extended to the Hicks family of Dillwyn. A memorial service for Lynwood Noah Hicks, 82, was held in the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home Jan. 29. He will be greatly missed by all.

Larry and Barbara Gray and Barry and Linda Miles, all of Cumberland, and Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, visited in the home of James and Virginia Boyles, of Cumberland, on Saturday.

On Thursday evening the 2016 Taste of Farmville event was held at the STEPS Center in Farmville where Barry and Linda Miles and Jane Cooke and grandson Sam were just a few among hundreds who attended this event for the Farmville Rotary Club.
