Search focuses on Olene Brooks

AMELIA — Abduction and kidnapping suspect Dana L. William died after being located by the U.S. Marshals Service in Massachusetts Wednesday morning.
According to a press release from the Amelia County Sheriff’s Office, when the Marshals, Massachusetts State Police and the Fitchburg Police Department attempted to arrest William — who was armed — he suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound, from which he later died.
William, 43, wanted in connection with the Jan. 21 abduction and kidnapping of 67-year-old Olene Brooks, of Amelia. Her husband, Woodell, was found dead near the home after Olene was allegedly taken hostage.
“The investigation is focused on locating … Brooks,” the press release stated.
The Amelia Emergency Squad and the Amelia Emergency Squad Auxiliary have offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the location of Brooks, and the U.S. Marshals Service has offered an additional $2,500 for information on her location.
