Happy birthday wishes go out this week to Nora Atkinson, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Tuesday, April 7; Florence Lango, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Wednesday, April 8; and Louise Crews, of Buckingham, and Cheryl Canipe, of Henrico, celebrating on Thursday, April 9.

James and Virginia Boyles and Barry Miles, all of Cumberland, enjoyed lunch at a Dillwyn restaurant on Thursday, March 26.

Sympathy is extended to the Carter family of Dillwyn. Anne Jacqueline Carter, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 23 in Richmond. A funeral service was held March 26 at Buckingham Baptist Church in Arvonia. She will be greatly missed by all.

James and Virginia Boyles, Barry and Linda Miles, Rene Marion and Faye Marion, all of Cumberland, and Annie may Miles, of Dillwyn, enjoyed a time of fellowship and food at a Dillwyn restaurant on Wednesday, March 25.

Buckingham Baptist Church, located on North James Madison Highway in Arvonia, will host an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4 at 2 p.m. for children ages 12 years and younger. Refreshments will follow the hunt.

Buckingham Baptist Church, located on North James Madison Highway in Arvonia, will be hosting special services on Easter Sunday, April 5.

The day will begin at 7 a.m. with sunrise services, followed by breakfast at 8 a.m., Sunday school at 9:45 a.m., morning Worship at 11 am. and the Lord’s Supper. Pastor Doug Adams and the congregation cordially invite all to attend.

Buckingham Baptist Church serves supper every Wednesday evening from 5:15-6:15 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. The cost is $4 per person for up to three people and a family with four or more will be $15 per family to cover food cost. Bible study follows at 6:30 p.m. and children in action Bible class is held for ages five to 11. All are invited to attend.

Spreading God’s Gifts Inc. of Buckingham is a non-profit local organization that extends help to individuals and families in their hour of need. All are invited to learn how to help by attending their regular monthly meeting. The next meeting is set for Tuesday, April 7, at 6:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Buckingham County Public Library. All board members and interested persons are asked to attend. The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a non-profit organization, will hold their regular monthly meeting on Monday, April 6 at 5 p.m. Hatcher Baptist Church in Cumberland.

The Seventh Day Adventist Church, located in Cartersville, will be conducting a free health screening for Cartersville and Cumberland county residents on Monday, April 6 from 4-6 p.m.

Cedar Baptist Church, located on Bell Road in Dillwyn, will be hosting an Easter egg hunt at the church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 4. Lunch will be provided.
