John Douglas Bollinger

John Douglas Bollinger, 73, of Farmville, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016. He was born in Farmville to the late Harvey Robert and Catherine Davis Bollinger on May 17, 1942.

He served his country in the US Army and was a proud member of the VFW. He was a member of the Square Hunt Club, the Moose Lodge and a member of the Church of God.

He retired from Moores Distributing and he started several businesses, B&M Greenhouse, JR’s Quick Corner, Walker’s Diner, and Bollinger Recycling.

He was married to Anita Campbell Bollinger on April 26, 1980 and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Anita; a son, James Bruce Baldwin Jr. (Laura) of Farmville; a daughter, Angie Baldwin Reynolds (Jeff) of Keysville; a sister, Hester B. Fore (Earl) of Richmond; eight grandchildren, Anthony Coyle, Nicholas Coyle, Michael Douglas Coyle, Jessie Davis Coyle, Dr. James B. Baldwin III, Nichole Baldwin, Morgan Borum, and Autumn Barton and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Catherine B. Coyle.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 14 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Puckett Funeral Home with interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
