Thurston “Thor” Stish, 19, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015 in Buckingham. He came into this world on September 8, 1996 during Hurricane Fran in the heart of Buckingam.  He lived his short life with all the intensity of a hurricane from the very first day to the last.

Thor was a dedicated community servant sharing his time and energy as a volunteer firefighter for the Toga Fire Department and helping anyone and everyone in need. He was very proud to have gotten his job as an operator at the Virginia Department of Transportation.

He was an avid hunter and had numerous hobbies such as being a horseback rider, mechanic, carpenter, guitar player, and even an occasional lumberjack. He was a loyal friend to all, and as anyone who saw it knows his smile was infectious, lighting up the room and lifting spirits in a flash.
