Mr. and Mrs. Michael Gaines, of Rice, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Billi Jo Mahan, to Patrick S. Wilkinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. William S. Wilkinson, of South Hill. Ms. Mahan is also the daughter of the late Ronald Mahan.

Billi Jo is a 2003 graduate of Fuqua School and received her nursing degree from Bon Secours Memorial School of Nursing, Richmond, in 2009. She is currently employed as a registered nurse at Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill.

Sterling is a 2003 graduate of Brunswick Academy and received his bachelor's degree in history from Hampden-Sydney College in 2007. He is currently managing Circle W Farms Inc. in South Hill.

Billi Jo and Sterling have planned an April 2011 wedding.
