FARMVILLE — Southern States Cooperative will launch its 5th annual Holiday Food Drive on Nov. 9.
Partnering with local food banks and charitable organizations in a number of cities and communities in the Southeast, the regional ag retailer will continue its tradition of helping to feed disadvantaged families and individuals during the upcoming holiday season.
Farmville’s Southern States Cooperative, located at 182 SMI Way, will participate.
“Farmers and farm cooperatives in this nation and around the world are focused on providing adequate and nutritious food to our rapidly growing populations,” said Southern States President and CEO Jeff Stroburg. “As we participate in this food drive during the holidays, we are reminded that feeding our world is a challenge we must confront 365 days a year.”
The food drive will continue until Dec. 14.
Participating Southern States locations will receive donations of canned and non-perishable food and deliver them to local food banks, churches or other charities.
Food collected will be distributed to families and individuals in need during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
Anyone interested in making a contribution to the 2015 Holiday Food Drive may contact their participating Southern States retail location for more information.
