BUCKINGHAM — The Buckingham County Board of Supervisors has agreed to allocate $14,000 toward improvements for the VFW Hall on U.S. Route 60 just east of the courthouse.

The unanimous action followed a request, made by Carroll Gathright, a past commander of VFW Post 8446.

Gathright, who said he was representing both the VFW Post and the American Legion Post 134, said that $10,000 had already been spent on replacing about one-third of the floor joists.

County Administrator Rebecca S. Carter told the board that the funds could come from the existing library building fund reserve account.
