A 27-year-old Farmville man was arrested last week after allegedly breaking into an apartment on West Osborne Road and assaulting a male.
The suspect, who police have identified as Marquis Antoine Brown, was arrested on scene and charged with breaking and entering, assault and battery and charges connected to other outstanding warrants, Police Chief Curtis Davis said.
According to Farmville Police Chief Curtis Davis, the incident was reported on Sept. 10 in the 1100 block of West Osborne Road.
“Officers received information alleging that the suspect had forcefully entered an apartment after demanding money from the person inside,” Davis said. “Once inside, the suspect allegedly assaulted a male in the residence. The suspect was restrained by the victim and both were on-scene when the officers arrived. The investigation indicates that the suspect was known to the individuals in the apartment prior to the offense,” Davis said.
Brown has a hearing set for Oct. 26 in Prince Edward General District Court.
