PUBLIC HEARING
The Cumberland County Planning Commission will meet on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in Room C-8 of the Cumberland County Community Center located at the corner of Anderson Highway (Route 60) and Forest View Road (Route 628) in Cumberland, Virginia, to conduct a public hearing pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-2204, which such hearing may be continued or adjourned, as required under applicable law, and to consider the following items and taking actions in furtherance thereof:
Code Amendment (CA) 15-10, Wineries and Breweries as a Conditional Use in the A-2 district- The Cumberland County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on an amendment that would allow wineries and breweries as a conditional use in the A-2 district and will add definitions for these uses.
Conditional Use Permit (CUP) 15-07 Blue Door Mini Storage- A conditional use request to allow mini-storage in an A-2 District. The property is located on Plank Road, approximately one mile north of Airport Road, and is designated as tax map parcel 96-A-12. The parcel is 8.5 acres, and is zoned A-2. The parcel is not within the designated growth area as designated on the Comprehensive Plan and is within Election District 5.
Conditional Use Permit (CUP) 15-10 Mitchell’s Market- A conditional use request to allow a restaurant and a brewery in an A-2 district. The property is located at 2487 Cumberland Road, Tax Parcel 89-A-100 and 100A. The property is zoned A-2 Agricultural, with a Conditional Use Permit for an automotive garage and a store. It is not located in a growth area as designated on the Comprehensive Plan and it is located in Election District 4.
Copies of the complete text of the proposed conditional use permits and code amendment are available for public review at the office of the Cumberland County Planning Department, County Administration Building, 1 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland, Virginia between 8:30 am and
4:30 pm of each business day. The public is invited to attend this hearing at which persons affected may appear and present their views.
