Birthdays and anniversary celebrations noted

Happy Birthday wishes go out this week to Frank Baird, of Dillwyn, (Sept. 8); Diane Green, of Cumberland, Betty Jo LeSueur, of Dillwyn, and Tammy Gough, of Winginia, (Sept. 9); and Shirley Waycaster, of Dillwyn, (Sept. 10).
Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland along with Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, and Jane Cooke and grandson Sam Givens, both of Brookneal, all enjoyed an evening meal at a Farmville restaurant Aug. 23.
Happy anniversary wishes to Pastor Terry and Pam Tolliver, of Dillwyn, on Sept. 10.
On Aug. 28, Smokey and Brenda Wilson from Concord, along with Becky Powell, of Farmville, Barry Miles, of Cumberland, Jane Cooke and her grandson Sam Givens, both of Brookneal, all enjoyed a meal at a Farmville restaurant after a gospel concert at Glenn Memorial Baptist Church featuring Smokey Wilson. A nice time was had by all.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the sick and shut-in.
Our continued thoughts and prayers are sent out this week to Clarence Walters, of Powhatan who continues to recover after surgery. As of this writing he said, “I am doing well and feel great and I am looking forward to being on the road soon singing for the Lord.”
Our dear friend Evangelist Alan Gough, of Wingina, along with Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, and Jane Cooke, of Brookneal, all enjoyed an evening meal and great fellowship at Golden Corral of Lynchburg Aug. 26.
A little good news: The weather forecast for today will be “The Lord Reigns and the Son Shines.
