A grand opening celebration for the new Centra Southside Medical Center (CSMC) at 935 South Main Street is set for Aug. 30 at 4 p.m.
The center will open for patient care on Aug. 31, according to a Centra press release.
Upon opening, the CSMC will be home to multiple physicians and specialties. It is anticipated that the over 50,000-square-foot former Roses building will serve thousands of patients in the first year, the release noted.
The CSMC will offer a full range of health care services including primary care, orthopedics, nephrology, psychiatry, physical therapy, occupational therapy, laboratory, speech therapy and digital x-ray.
“This beautiful facility culminates months of planning with the goal of delivering exceptional care to our community,” Centra Southside CEO Tom Angelo said. “The Centra Southside Medical Center will be a place of quality care for years to come.”
The Centra Medical Group’s Farmville Clinic will move to the new location. The new outpatient medical center has the capacity to add additional specialties as well.
Based on the Community Health Needs Assessment completed in 2012, this area is underserved with primary care physicians, access to care and needed extended physician hours, according to the release.
At the CSMC, office hours will be Monday – Friday, opening from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday hours are from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. If the need increases, Sunday hours may be added later.
Appointments, new patients and walk-ins are welcome and no one will be denied care regardless of their ability to pay, the release stated.
Parking is available at the South Main Street location, and the CSMC will be on the Farmville Area Bus line.
