September 23 – Happy Birthday wishes are sent out to Ciera Ownby, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Saturday, September 25, Virginia Boyles, of Cumberland, celebrating on Monday, September 27; Eloise Senger, of Crewe, and Floyd Garrett, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Tuesday, September 28; and Howard Midkiff, of Cumberland, celebrating on Thursday, September 30.
Welcome home to Hazel Short, of Cumberland, who was in Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond on Thursday, September 16. She is said to be doing ok. Your continued thoughts and prayers are desired.
Happy Anniversary wishes are sent out to Pastor Donald and Sue Floyd of Evergreen, celebrating on Saturday, September 25.
The Annual Martin Family Reunion was held September 18 at Jones Chapel Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Cumberland. The oldest gentleman attending was Lee Martin of Chesterfield, and the oldest lady was Mary Martin of Cumberland. A large crowd attended and enjoyed a great time of fellowship.
Franklin and Margarette Spencer, of Buckingham, Rogers Norman of Appomattox and Rev. Franklin Royster, of Worsham, all enjoyed an evening of great food, fun and fellowship at a Farmville restaurant in celebration of Margarette Spencer's birthday on Friday, September 17. A special thanks to Rev. Royster for providing this celebration.
T.J. Waycaster of Powhatan visited in the home of Pete and Annie May Miles of Dillwyn of Sunday afternoon.
Belated Happy Anniversary wishes are sent to Kevin and Rene Marion, of Cumberland, they celebrated on September 17.
The Annual Byrd Family Reunion was held September 19 in Fries, Virginia. James and Virginia Boyles, of Cumberland, and Elizabeth Stone, of Dillwyn, were among those attended. A great time was had by all.
Barry Miles, of Cumberland, along with Tom Snead, of Glen Allen, enjoyed The Country Jamboree Celebration on Wednesday, September 15 at The Woodlands in Farmville. Thanks to the entire management and staff for great food and live entertainment.
Jones Chapel Baptist Church will hold their annual Homecoming Services on Sunday, September 26. Worship services will begin the day at 10 a.m. with a message from God's Holy Word from church Pastor Jim Lamb. This will be followed by Southern Gospel Music at 11 a.m. with The Harvesters, of Sanford, North Carolina. This will be followed by lunch in the church fellowship hall. Pastor Lamb and the congregation cordially invite all to attend.
Linda Miles, of Cumberland, visited in the home of Dallas and Hazel Short and Janie Kear in Cumberland on Tuesday, September 21.
Please pray for Debbie Trent of Cumberland. As of this writing she is said to be doing as well as could be expected. A benefit gospel sing to help with medical bills have been planned for Saturday, November 13 at 6 p.m. in the Buckingham County High School Auditorium. More details later.
