DILLWYN — A 27-year-old Dillwyn man has been charged with seven felony counts in connection to a drug task force investigation in Buckingham County.
Sidney M. Mack was arrested on Tuesday, July 14, according to Virginia State Police Spokeswoman Corinne Geller.
According to Geller, the Piedmont Regional Narcotic & Gang Task Force began an investigation earlier this year focusing on the possession and distribution of cocaine in the Buckingham, Cumberland and Prince Edward counties.
The investigation led the task force to Mack, who has been charged “with six felony counts of manufacturing a controlled substance and one felony count of drug conspiracy,” Geller said.
Geller wouldn’t confirm if any illegal substances or items were seized and said the investigation remains ongoing.
Buckingham County Sheriff William G. “Billy” Kidd Jr. commented on the arrest, saying, “Any time we are getting drugs off the street, I’m happy.”
The task force is comprised of investigators from sheriff’s offices in Buckingham, Cumberland and Prince Edward, along with the Farmville Police Department and State Police.
