JUNE 25 — Mabel Rebholz Cason, 98, died at The Woodland in Farmville on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. She was the daughter of late Charles and Verna Rebholz of Farmville and was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Henry Cason.
She was an accomplished gardener and member of the garden club. She and her husband loved their roses, many other flowers as well as vegetable gardening. She gave many hours volunteering at Southside Hospital as well as the Women’s Auxiliary of the Farmville Fire Department. She was an avid reader and loved to continually broaden her learning.
Mrs. Cason is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Cason Davis of Appomattox and Frances Cason Richman of Chester; three grandsons, Gregory Thomas Davis (Didi), Robert Thomas Richman (Mary) and Joseph Boyd Richman Sr.; six great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
The family would like to thank her many devoted and caring friends as well as the wonderful staff at The Woodland for their love and support.
The family will receive friends Thursday (tonight), June 25 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Shorter Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 26 at Farmville Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
