PAMPLIN, June 16 — Raymond Carl “Pipeman” Dickerson, 77, of Pamplin, died Thursday, June 11, 2015 at his home. He was born in Charlotte County on October 4, 1937, a son of the late Clyde and Katherine Baker Dickerson.
He was a devoted member of Elon Baptist Church for 65 years. Mr. Dickerson was a graduate of Farmville High School Class of 1956 and spent his life farming, auctioneering, and with his wife, Nancy, owned the Pamplin Clay Pipe Factory for many years.
Mr. Dickerson is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Nancy Martin Dickerson; sons, Raymond Keith Dickerson and wife, Tracy of Glen Allen and Brian Sidney Dickerson and wife, Tanya of Appomattox; five grandchildren, Amanda, Austin, Aidan, Kayli, and Haley; a sister, Ann Spain and husband, Tommy of Henrico; a brother-in-law, Charlie Martin and wife, Ann of Chesterfield; and nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was a devoted husband, loving dad, and a proud PaPa to his grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, June 14 at Elon Baptist Church by the Rev. David Sexton and the Rev. Steve Tyree. Burial followed in the Pamplin Community Cemetery.
