LCVA To Host Free Summer Art Studio

The Longwood Center for the Visual Arts invites children and their families to explore and create art inspired by famous children’s literature! Open weekdays from June 8 through August 7, the Summer Art Studio program is bringing popular children’s books to life with Literally Art!
The program features kid-friendly art activities for children of all ages. Families are welcome to stop in weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; children must be accompanied by an adult.
This year’s program dates and themes are:
The New Classics June 8–19 – explore new and award winning children’s literature; Let’s Go on an Adventure!
June 22–July 3 – curl up with a good book and you can let your imagination do the traveling. Colorful You – bring your own shirt to tie-dye shoelaces for you to dye will be provided; It’s a Jungle Out There July 20-31- a fun time recreating some of the most iconic animals from children’s literature; Inside the Artist’s Studio August 3-7 – learn about favorite artists and different art techniques.
The program is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
