Evergreen Lavender And Music Festival Is June 20

On June 20, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Evergreen Lavender Farm in Evergreen will present the 14th annual Evergreen Lavender and Music Festival.
At the main stage, music will begin with old-time flavored Farm Use String band, then get prepared for the Swanson’s Living Room. In the barn will be The McKenzies, Lobo Marino, and Magic Mike the Magician. A touch of lavender will flavor the menu. The Drug Store Grill of Brookneal will provide North Carolina style barbecue, slaw, chips, and lavender potato salad. Sands Soucy Vineyards will be pouring their local wines. Lavender lemonade, and other beverages will be available from Blaine’s Books and Coffee.
Stroll through he flower gardens and the lavender rows. Cut your own lavender for $8 a bunch. Under the tent at 12:30 p.m., weave a lavender wand ($5) and at 2:30 p.m. create a lavender head wreath ($10).
Stained glass, jewelry, bath and body lotions, lavender plants, herbal vinegars and other crafts will be on sale. Shop in the Norfolk and Lavender caboose for the farm’s own lavender products.
Bring a chair and enjoy a relaxing afternoon under the giant oaks and in the garden. Tickets are available at the gate for $7. Kids 10 and under are free. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Blue Ridge Food Bank.
