Centra Announces Health Initiative Fund Grants

Centra Foundation is pleased to announce the 2015 recipients of the Centra Foundation Community Health Initiative Fund grants totaling $591,902 to support health-related projects and programs in our community.
Funds for the grants are administered by the Centra Foundation and come directly from Centra.
The grants funded are closely aligned to the funding goals that have been established as a result of our most recent Community Health Needs Assessment. The funding provided through these grant awards will help many area agencies support new projects and programs that will greatly enhance our community’s health.
Local grant recipients are:
No Wrong Door/CRIA Computer Client Referral Program – $13,125, to Piedmont Senior Resources, Area Agency on Aging, Inc., Farmville & Southside, to support the purchase of a CRIA (Community, Referral, Information and Assistance) tracking software program to navigate at-risk population to service providers.
Self-Care and Wellness Initiative – $37,789.55, to Heart of Virginia Free Clinic/Southside to provide medical equipment, medical supplies, sleep study supplies, YMCA memberships and gas cards to those in need.
