The Prospect Happy Hats enjoyed their October outing last Saturday visiting

The Historic Noland Village at Providence in Halifax County. Saturday was a beautiful day for a stroll through the village, one of the buildings, the Prospect Ordinary, stood in Prospect at one time operating as a tavern. The Prospect Happy Hats and guest enjoyed lunch at Mimeo's Italian Restaurant in Charlotte Court House. Those attending were hostess Edwina Covington and members Hilda Allen, Lorraine Chapman, Lois Johnson, Elfrieda Kerns, Joyce Floyd, Edith Vaughan, Jeannette Tarlton, Betty Meadows, Margaret Stockton and their guests Julian Covington, Fred Floyd, Don Meadows and Richard Stockton.

The Fellowship Hall of Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle was the setting for an awesome 80th birthday cele-bration on Saturday afternoon for Carl Kelsey (birthday is the 21). He was honored by the presence of about 85 family and friends who came to wish him a happy birthday. It was a very good day and everyone had a great time.

Justin Chilton has been home from Christopher Newport College for a few days. While here he was able to attend the birth-day celebration for his grandfather, Carl Kelsey.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray (Betty) Noblin visited her sister, Ruth Garrow and brother, Thomas “Tommy” Arrington in Prince George County last Tuesday and Wednesday.

Mrs. Peggy Kelsey attended the 80th birthday celebration for her brother in-law, Carl Kelsey, on Saturday afternoon at the Fellowship Hall of the Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle.

Mr. and Mrs. John (Lois) Gager were accompanied by Mrs. Theresa Marsh and Mrs. Betty Meadows on Saturday night as they attended the “Steps Black and White Gale” held in the Steps building.

Brianna Smith of Keysville spent Friday night at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith. On Saturday she accompanied her grandfather to The Apple Harvest Festival held in Amherst.

On Monday the small group from Faith Bible Fellowship went out to dinner at Shoney's. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Al Quinlan, Mr. and Mrs. John Utzinger and Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith.

A women's brunch is being held Saturday, Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. at Calvary Chapel Farmville. The guest speaker is Mrs. Car-olyn Nowlin of Powhatan. All area ladies are welcome to attend. Contact Mrs. Sherri Fisher at 434-574-2032.

On Oct. 8 Bill and Susan Shirley of Churchville, visited her mother Ruth Simpson. They were accompanied by their two sons Doug and Rob and their families: Doug's children Will (7) and Katherine (4-1/2), Rob's wife Sarah and their two month old son John Ward who was introduced to his great grandmother for the first time. Susan returned this past weekend to attend her Uncle Carl Kelsey's 80th birthday party.

Chris and Billie Jo Waddell flew in for the weekend to visit with their families. Billie Jo spent time with her mother, Susan Campbell and brother, John Marsden in Prospect, while her husband Chris visited his family, the Waddells of Appomattox and was thankful to see his grandmothers Rachel Waddell and Betty Pool.

Mrs. Flora Bolt attended the United Daughters of the Confederacy meeting last Thursday at the Farmville/Prince Edward Community Library, then on Saturday she attended the birthday celebration for Carl Kelsey at the Fellowship Hall at Appomat-tox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle.

Mr. and Mrs. Don (Betty) Meadows as well as Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stockton were among those attending the wiener roast for the Eastern Star No. 150 on Sunday afternoon held at the home of Mrs. Judith Reynolds in Keysville.

Mrs. Shirley Fulcher underwent knee surgery Oct. 19.

Family, friends and neighbors are sending special get well wishes to all those who are sick at this time, Mrs. Shirley Fulcher, Mrs. Rita Lawhorne and Johnny Campbell.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will be with them this Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sun-day; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Otis Worley will fill the pulpit on Sunday.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville is located at 45 Simp-son Road in Prospect, two miles west of Dowdy's Corner just off of US 460.
